I have to agree, and have in the past, with Mr. Andrup's vision of Albion flats. I can only hope this new Council sees the idealism in the presentation. Downtown is not an area for the so called big box retailer as much as people promote such. You need vast parking areas, which should not be a focal point as the present lot sitting on the corner of Lougheed & 224th is now. Obviously, Smart Centers is promoting the Albion area, and intelligent conversation and abilities could make a win-win situation here.
We need only look to Port Moody to see the wisdom of small commercial units sitting under a condo development to see what should happen 'downtown'. Very seldom are there better ideas, and 'borrowing' good ideas is good management.
